With video games more available than ever, I'll grab every ability I can to feel like a demigod in any way. Doom Eternal allows players the chance to engage in the power fantasy, but does so by insulting and killing the player in the next corner. This progression from the 2016 remake delivers on something positive about it while proving it wasn't a fluke. In hindsight, the inclusion of Eternal's mid-air dashes almost totally breaks the previous game for me because it looks like playing in waist-high molasses. DeathMatch 2016 has been taken out of the mix in favour of Eternal's interesting 2v1, Demon vs. Slayer Battlemode. Expertly designed from both a concept and engineering standpoint, the whole kit is offered to you.
Doom Eternal provides an engrossing first-person shooter campaign with strong action and tense stealth parts. It's lost some of its appeal but maintains the thrill of the intense and furious fighting style that it invented. If you can keep up with it, this awesome revision of the already spectacular 2016 reboot can keep up with you. Grimy also awards you with getting great at playing sports, which is fun, as the game constantly shows you how to play better and quicker, with loads of modification choices to customize battles to your desired form of murder. It's a blast as you go.
Through showing you how to efficiently use your adversaries in Battlemode, the simple and simplified fighting tutorial teaches you what you need to know about each playable demon, yet Battlemode's fun is in trying your mettle in the field and finding out the best way to utilize the powers of each bad guy. Although the Battlemode doesn't encourage you to show your ability against conventional enemies, it is still a clever mode that is enjoyable if you're willing to learn and play about with its intricacies.
It shouldn't be a huge surprise that Doom Eternal does a fine job of following up 2016's Doom, since the campaign of Doom Eternal is just around 15 hours long. After watching it, however, one will see just how much stronger Doom has become in only four years. The developers at Eternal tip their hats to Doom 2, recognizing it but still taking advantage of the revitalization the modernized redesign offered the game genre. As long as you've played Doom for some time, whether you've played for decades or just a few years, Doom Eternal needs your focus.
